Covers the basics of good copywriting and can be read in half an hour. It has some decent pointers if you're just starting out. Nothing new, but it's not pretending to be. My only issue is the tone Neville writes in. The book reads like sales copy, but the slimy type that puts me off. It seems like it's trying to be a tad too "wacky", one of the things Neville warns against in the book. I'm not familiar with his other work, but I assume that's just his writing style. For a book about writing, this writer needs a better proofreader/editor. It's riddled with spelling mistakes and missing words. There's an example of an email in this book where the goal is to "Convince someone it's worth it to live" that's offensive to anyone with a mental illness. Plus, the quote graphic about copy being like a women's skirt is unnecessary - really living up to that caveman persona he apparently adapts when proofing.

It's a fast read, which I love. Short and effective, like it clearly states on the cover. It gets right to the information and Neville tells you how to use it. For copywriters, it may not be a great investment (although worth a half-hour read and a few bucks to buy). For non-copywriters, it's an excellent, little handbook to teach the concepts of writing effective copy - whether a sales page or an email. It's a fast read, which I love. Short and effective, like it clearly states on the cover. It gets right to the information and Neville tells you how to use it. For copywriters, it may not be a great investment (although worth a half-hour read and a few bucks to buy). Clever little book that's like a little "Elements of Style" but a little more cheeky. Not a lot of content, but the content that is in there will make you think and will definitely make you think differently about writing. Good book for starters like me. Gives what it promises.

You will get an overview of useful techniques if you are just starting out.
His writing style, however, is very light-hearted (I am afraid to use the word "shallow").Which leaves me thinking how could I write a copy in B2B segment, where it won't be acceptible. Generally I lacked more other examples of different tones that you can use if you don't want to sound too personal like he does.

Otherwise, it's a nice read and you can take it with you

Terribly written book. It was recommended on one of the blogs I read, but after reading it I have no idea why. Read this if you want to sound like a teenage boy who has had too much caffeine and is trying to sound cool around his older brother's friends. Terribly written book. Don't waste your money or time on this book. The few actual copywriting points he makes are easy to find from better, less conceited sources on the internet. Also, for a "book" on writing, it's full of grammatical errors and obvious typos, which makes it even more difficult to follow.

Neville hast a strong opinion on how you should write copy. And it's a very thin line he walks. Some things he write appear unsophisticated and to easy. But some things are clear advice and can be quickly used to make improvements.

What I liked is that he tried to compress it and get straight to the point. I read the book in half an hour and this is enough to grasp all the concepts.

Even though the book is really thin, it doesn't need to be any thicker to give good advice. Medhora explains very clearly ways to improve your copy that make it more compelling for your audience to subscribe, buy, and share your work/product. He also provides positive and negative examples to really make his points clear.

This would have been a 4 star rating, but the punctuation was really distracting. There were lots of unnecessary commas that interrupted sentence flow, and even though he says i

When I first decided to read this book, I said to myself : if I get bored within the first page, this book has nothing to teach me.

And thankfully that didn't happend I didn't feel boredom even a second, that prooved the effeciency of the writer, I finished the book in 2 seats.

The book is realy realy usefull and a must read for everyone communicating by writing.

His advice is simple and short and the book is simple and short.

Write like with mindset "people care about themselves not you"

And the life making formula AIDA by him is one of best formula that can work for novice as well as pro writer. AIDA: Grab their ATTENTION, Invoke INTEREST (by comparing or showing facts), Induce DESIRE, and finally make them to take action.

Simple, Short and Working formula. Thanks Mr. Neville for this book.

I will implement this and hope I can write a copy that sells.

Informative, fun and to the point

I really enjoyed this book. It provided a lot of useful writing "hacks" and examples of what to do and what not to do when crafting effective, interesting copy. The author has a sarcastic sense of humor that I just loved and I liked that he cut to the chase and didn't make this book 300 pages long when it didn't need to be. I would definitely recommend it.

Although it did not come with something totally new, the book keeps everything short and simple. You can read it in a couple of hours and it's a really good reminder for some basic copywriting rules.
Good to keep on hand when you feel you need some inspiration of a quick refresh of basic rules of copywriting.

Liked the book and I got a lot of useful information from it to make my writing better, it's perfect for everyone who wants to make their copywriting better, so especially writers who write product descriptions benefit from this.

After reading this book, my thoughts are like - I am ready to rock the copywriting business. This book is crisp and to the point. This book teaches you the basics of persuasive writing skills such as tailoring attention, interest, desire in your copy. Neville has done a great job. I would definitely recommend this book for a beginner in Copywriting.

Worthwhile intro to techniques for persuasive writing (ads, marketing copy, and so on). A very quick overview. If you want in-depth training, look elsewhere.

Easy to read / straight to the point

Go ahead and buy it; I consider myself an amateur writer, had been published a couple of times, and do a lot of commercial writing for my job as a Producer, this fast pace book really is full of tips and guidelines to improve your skills
